SFI was established in 1968 for the purpose of providing insurance, benefit consulting, and investment solutions to successful mid-size corporations, and to the owners and executives who run them.
Early in May 1999, "SFI" became a founding member firm of National Financial Partners ("NFP"). NFP is a premier independent financial services company serving the mid-sized corporate market and high net-worth individuals.
In 2001, SFI merged with Phillip E. Goodman, Inc. an established business and estate planning firm, founded in 1974. Phillip E. Goodman, Inc. was also a member firm of PartnersFinancial. This relationship increases SFI's ability to reach out to the people and markets they serve and better leverage the resources of NFP.
In October 2003, NFP became listed on the NYSE (NFP) with a market capitalization of over $1 Billion. NFP's industry stature and contractual relationships with leading financial services providers enables SFI to offer clients access to a broad selection of the highest-quality products available.
